BLACKFOOTOne of the most influential Southern Rock bands of all time has reunited. Founding members Greg T. Walker, Jackson Spires, and Charlie Hergrett along with former Blackfoot/AXE lead singer & guitarist Bobby Barth have reunited to bring back one of the hardest hitting multi-platinum selling acts to emerge from Jacksonville, Florida. With hits like "Train, Train," and "Highway Song" from albums like "Strikes," "Tomcattin'," and "Marauder," this band is a reunited powerhouse! Blackfoot's bold history is legendary, having toured with the lieks of Deep Purple, The Who, ZZ Top, Iron Maiden and The Scorpions. The last major American tour saw Def Leppard open for Blackfoot...it was the year of "Rattlesnake Rock & Roll." This reunion is the result of a world-wide petition by fans that spurred talks, then rehearsals, and now, the Blackfoot 2006 Worldwide Tour! Sadly, earlier this year, drummer Jackson Spires passed away, but not without instructions for the band to continue the long-standing tradition of taking the music to the people. Austrian drummer Christopher Ullman was inducted and is now the thunder of Blackfoot's rhythm section.Fri Apr 7Meridian1503 Chartres713-225-1717<Poster
Asleep at the WheelThis Texas band has become an institution dedicated to preserving the legacy of big band Western Swing. Like any large band that has survived more than twenty-five years of touring and recording, Asleep at the Wheel have a fluid lineup centered around anchor/leader Ray Benson. The quintessential frontman, Benson has a booming bass voice and is a nimble, inventive guitarist who's well versed in Swing, jazz and country. The band's trademark sound includes fiddles, horns, steel guitars and piano, all playing tightly arranged pieces and trading blazing solos. The Wheel, as they're known to their fans, have recorded numerous albums on their own and have worked with most of the big names in country music.

Joe Lynn TurnerAfter nearly 30 years and over 60 album credits, Joe Lynn Turner remains one of rock and roll's most distinctive, soulful and expressive vocalists. Growing up with an appreciation for classic R&B, he became an accomplished guitarist in his early teens, influenced by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Free, and Deep Purple . In 1976, JLT enjoyed his first taste of national success with Fandango, eclectic mix of R&B, pop, country, jazz and melodic rock. Fandango toured with numerous artists including The Allman Brothers, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Beach Boys and Billy Joel.
After Fandango split, legendary Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, impressed by Joe's work, enlisted him in his new band,Rainbow. Ironically, Joe spent his formative years covering Deep Purple songs and now he found himself fronting a band with two former members: Blackmore and Roger Glover. Turner co-wrote and/or sang on Rainbow singles that helped define the melodic rock genre:"Stone Cold," "I Surrender," "Can't Happen Here," "Jealous Lover," "Death Alley Driver," "Street of Dreams" and "Can't Let You Go." When Blackmore reunited with Deep Purple, Turner had the freedom to work on his first solo album, "Rescue You. A tour with Pat Benatar and acting role in the movie, "Blue Deville" followed. In 1987, JLT became a member of Yngwie Malsteen's Rising Force. In the winter of 1989, Ritchie Blackmore and Deep Purple needed to find a lead singer to replace Ian Gillan. In a second ironic twist of Fate, Turner was invited to audition and found himself fronting one of the major bands he was influenced by as a teenager! They released the album, "Slaves and Masters" and launched an extensive world tour in the midst of The Gulf War. To this day, Blackmore maintains that "Slaves and Masters" is his favorite Deep Purple record since his reunion with the group in 1984.

KITTIEFor Kittie, it wasn't enough to tour with Slipknot; to co-headline the Sno Core tour; to co-headline the OZZfest 2000 sidestage with Soulfly; to be hand-picked by Pantera to join their Reinventing The Steel tour. In the world of heavy metal, it just wasn't enough to be the Cowgirls From Hell --Kittie wanted more. The all-girl group wanted to follow-up their gold Artemis Records debut Spit, with a release that would blur the lines that differentiate the sexes, resulting in an album that was nothing more than heavy metal, written and performed by heavy metal fans. Oracle accomplishes that goal, taking listeners on a voyage of emotional depths, musical highs and lows, and influences that run the gamut from classic rock and grindcore, to new wave and death metal.Thur Apr 27Meridian1503 Chartres713-225-1717<Poster
